TRNSMT is Glasgow’s biggest music festival — a three-day, non-camping event held on Glasgow Green that draws 50,000 people a day to the very edge of the city centre. The 2026 edition runs Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June with Richard Ashcroft, Kasabian and Lewis Capaldi headlining.
This is a complete planning guide for TRNSMT Festival Glasgow 2026: lineup, tickets, gates, what to bring, where to stay and the best survival tips from the Glaswegians who do it every year.

TRNSMT 2026 at a glance
Dates: Friday 19 – Sunday 21 June 2026. Venue: Glasgow Green, Glasgow G1 5DB. Capacity: 50,000 per day. Age limit: Under-16s only with a paying adult; under-5s free. Camping: No on-site camping — TRNSMT is a city-centre festival; you sleep in town.
2026 headliners and lineup
TRNSMT 2026’s confirmed headliners are:
- Friday: Richard Ashcroft
- Saturday: Kasabian
- Sunday: Lewis Capaldi (his first festival headline since his hiatus)
The 2026 line-up across all four stages also includes Wolf Alice, The Fratellis, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Amy Macdonald, The Last Dinner Party, Two Door Cinema Club, CMAT, Dylan John Thomas, Loyle Carner, Sonny Fodera, Perrie, English Teacher, Jacob Alon and dozens more. The full schedule typically gets posted on trnsmtfest.com about a fortnight before the festival.
The four stages
TRNSMT runs across four stages on Glasgow Green:
- Main Stage — the headliners and biggest acts; capacity 30,000+.
- King Tut’s Stage — a tribute to the famous city-centre venue, this stage hosts emerging Scottish and UK acts.
- River Stage — set up by the Clyde with a slightly more chilled programme.
- Boogie Bar — DJ-led dance area open all day and into the late evening.

Tickets and prices
TRNSMT sells tickets in tiers — the earlier you book, the cheaper the price. Approximate 2026 prices:
- Day ticket: £95–£115 + £10 booking fee.
- Weekend ticket: £215–£245 + £15 booking fee.
- VIP / Hospitality: £350+ for the day.
- Under-16s ticket (with paying adult): £25 day / £55 weekend.
Buy direct from trnsmtfest.com via Ticketmaster — third-party resellers tend to add unnecessary booking fees. Resold tickets via Twickets are usually genuine and capped at face value.
What’s in the ticket
Your ticket includes festival entry, all four stages, the funfair rides scattered through the site, the food and drink area access (food/drink charged separately), the chill-out zones and access to all on-site bars. There’s no included camping or parking.
How to get to TRNSMT
On foot: 15 minutes’ walk from Glasgow Central; 20 minutes from Queen Street. The walk down Saltmarket from the city centre is a great pre-festival route.
Subway: Bridgeton or High Street stations are the closest, both about 12 minutes’ walk to the gates. Subway runs until 11.40pm Mon–Sat — useful for the late finish.
Train: Bridgeton, High Street or Argyle Street rail stations are all 10–15 minutes’ walk.
Bus: First Bus 64 stops directly outside the festival gates.
Driving: Strongly discouraged — there’s no festival-specific parking and central Glasgow car parks fill early. Better to stay overnight in the city.
Where to stay for TRNSMT
Because TRNSMT is non-camping, accommodation matters. The closest hotels to Glasgow Green are in the Merchant City and the Saltmarket — most of which sell out by January. The wider city centre (within a 30-minute walk) has dozens of options. Avoid the West End for TRNSMT (long Subway closure means a £15 cab home at 11.30pm). Food, drink and toilets at TRNSMT
TRNSMT 2026 will host 50+ food traders covering the full Scottish-festival range — pizza, burgers, haggis fries, halloumi wraps, dumplings, vegan options. Expect £8–£14 a meal. Bars are run by Tennent’s; pints £6.50–£8, cocktails £12. Cards only — no cash accepted on most concession bars. Multiple toilet blocks (clean by mid-morning, less so by 9pm); accessible toilets near the Main Stage and the entrance.

What to bring
Yes: ID (you’ll need it for alcohol), a ticket on your phone (printed or screenshot), small bag (max A4 size), reusable water bottle, weatherproof jacket, sunscreen, ear plugs, a portable phone battery, comfortable shoes.
No: Cans, glass bottles, food and drink (other than empty water bottles), umbrellas, professional cameras, large bags, chairs, gazebos, tents, drugs of any kind. Searches are thorough at the gates; allow 30 minutes to get in at peak.
What to wear
Glasgow weather in June is unpredictable — average maximum temperature is 18°C and there’s roughly a 40% chance of rain on any given day. Layer up. A waterproof jacket is essential; sunglasses and sunscreen for the long days. Wellies aren’t usually necessary on Glasgow Green’s grass but a sturdy waterproof boot is a smart call.
Accessibility at TRNSMT
TRNSMT has won awards for festival accessibility. The site has step-free routes throughout, accessible toilets, viewing platforms at every stage, free PA tickets for personal assistants, and a dedicated accessibility helpdesk near the entrance. Apply online via the official site; the deadline is usually three weeks before the festival.
Pro-tips from regulars
- Arrive at 1pm — gates open at 1pm; the early crowd is sparse and you’ll find a good spot for the headliner without battling for it later.
- Use the cashless TRNSMT wristband if offered — cuts queues at bars and food stalls dramatically.
- Pre-book a meeting point with friends — phone signal at TRNSMT is patchy when 50,000 people are on it.
- Eat before the festival if budget is tight; food at the gates is around 50% pricier than the city centre.
- Take the Subway home if you’re staying west — Mon–Sat the last train is 11.40pm. Have a backup taxi app downloaded.
TRNSMT vs other Scottish festivals
TRNSMT is the city’s biggest single ticketed event but Glasgow’s wider festival scene includes Celtic Connections in January (folk and traditional), Summer Nights at the Bandstand at Kelvingrove in July (a cosier paid concert series) and the Glasgow Mela in June (free South Asian cultural festival). For the wider calendar see our Glasgow events and festivals guide.
