These terms cover your use of glasgowtourism.org. By reading the site you accept them. They are written plainly on purpose — this is a free travel guide, not a contract anybody should need a solicitor to decode.
What this site is, and what it isn’t
Glasgow Tourism Guide publishes independent, research-based guides to visiting Glasgow. It is a source of information and opinion. It is not a travel agency, tour operator, booking platform or ticket seller, and it is not affiliated with Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life, VisitScotland, SPT or any hotel, restaurant or venue we write about. When you book something, your contract is with that business, not with us.
Accuracy, and why you should still check
We research carefully and correct mistakes when they are pointed out. Even so, a city guide describes a moving target. Subway and rail fares are reviewed annually. Museum opening hours change between summer and winter and around public holidays. Festival dates shift each year. Restaurants close, sometimes without warning. Weather closes hill paths on Loch Lomond day trips.
So: treat prices, opening times, timetables and dates on this site as a well-researched starting point, and confirm anything that your trip depends on with the operator or venue before you travel or spend money. We give you the official links precisely so that you can. We do not warrant that the content is complete, current or error-free.
Decisions you make are your own
Our guides suggest walks, day trips, neighbourhoods, bars and distillery tours. You are responsible for judging what is suitable for you — your fitness, the weather, your budget, how much you drink, and how you get home afterwards. Nothing here is professional advice of any kind: not legal, financial, medical or safety advice. Where an activity carries real risk, follow the operator’s guidance rather than ours.
Using what we’ve written
The text, structure and original photography on this site belong to Glasgow Tourism Guide, and the site’s design and name are ours too.
- Always fine: reading, printing or saving pages for your own trip; linking to any page here from anywhere; quoting a short passage with attribution and a link back.
- Ask first: reproducing a whole article or a substantial part of one, in print or online, in any language.
- Not permitted: republishing our guides wholesale, scraping the site in bulk, or using its content to train or populate another product without written permission.
Images from third parties appear under the licences their creators granted; those licences, not these terms, govern what you may do with them. Requests for permission go through the contact page.
Links to other websites
We link out to venues, transport operators and event organisers because that is where the current, authoritative information lives. Those sites are not under our control. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including accommodation links served through Stay22. If you book after following one, Glasgow Tourism Guide receives a commission from the booking provider. You pay no more than you would going direct, and a commission never buys coverage, a recommendation or a position in a ranking.
This does not make us a party to your booking. We are still not a travel agency or a booking platform: the contract is between you and the hotel or operator, on their terms, and a commission paid to us afterwards by the booking site gives us no role in it and no ability to fix it if something goes wrong.
Limits on our liability
The site is provided as it is, without warranties. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your reliance on anything published here — a closed venue, a changed fare, a cancelled event, a booking that went wrong — or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
Behaviour we don’t allow
Please don’t attempt to break into, overload or disrupt the site, use automated tools to harvest it at scale, or send abusive or fraudulent messages through the contact form. We may block access where any of that happens.
Changes, and the law that applies
We may revise these terms; the version on this page at the time you read it is the one that applies, and the date below tells you when it last changed. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction — though as a consumer you keep any right you have to bring proceedings where you live.
